Latvenergo Telekomunikācijas operates in the telecommunication field already for a long time and considerable experience has been acquired in the management of the telecommunication infrastructure of Latvenergo Group. Our success manifests as safe and stable electricity supply every day that would not be possible without telecommunication and remote management systems. Quality is ensured by AS Latvenergo (henceforth – also Latvenergo) long-standing tradition since 1935 to implement the results of the latest research without delay. Today this tradition is continued by the present Latvenergo organisational units and it is applied to business development strategies.
Since 2003 when the Public Utilities Commission issued a licence to the public limited company Latvenergo granting it the right to provide telecommunication services, it has been doing it successfully competing in the market with the leading telecommunication companies.
Latvenergo Telekomunikācijas entered the market and started providing services comparatively recently, however, it has already proved its capacity to provide uninterrupted quality services to a number of respectable customers – both large companies (AS Hansabanka, Ernst & Young) and new office buildings and dwelling houses.
Services package of Latvenergo Telekomunikācijas include standard offers to companies and complex solutions, like high-speed internet, IP television, IP telephony, video surveillance systems a.o. We install different transmission channels (including installation of optical fibre cables) up to the customer’s location. We are able to ensure data communication in Latvia and the Baltic States. We can offer to our present and potential customers data communication service also in Northern, Eastern and Central Europe.
In cooperation with Lithuanian and Estonian power sector companies there has been created a joint data communication network in the Baltics – Baltic Optical Network (www.bon-net.net), assisting international companies and their cooperation partners to connect and have a high quality data communication network.
The cooperation partner assisting with ensuring up-to-date and quality telecommunication services in Europe is For Connecting Europe (4cE, www.4cE.org). 4cE has been developed by innovative operators of the European network having the aim to render services to internet service providers, application services providers and large international companies (corporative customers). Customers are offered to have the connection with the required telecommunication operator or interconnection point.
