Augstsprieguma tīkls AS is the first company in the Baltic States in its industry – electricity transmission – that has developed and introduced and is currently maintaining integrated management system of the company according to the requirements of the standards: ISO 9001:2000 (quality), ISO 14001:2004 (environmental protection) and OHSAS 18001:1999 (work safety and occupational health).
Aim of the activities expected to be carried out within the integrated management system is to increase efficiency of Augstsprieguma tīkls AS activity, ensure that needs and requirements of clients are satisfied to the maximum, raise environmental compatibility, increase work safety of the personnel and reduce risk of professional (occupational) diseases to the employees.

Responsibility
- Augstsprieguma tīkls AS is the Transmission System Operator of Latvia acting in accordance with the legislation, standards and licence requirements of the Republic of Latvia that define functions, obligations and responsibility of the Transmission System Operator.
- We are responsible for services and information provided for users or applicants.
- Testing and measuring works carried out by the Electric Power Laboratory of High Voltage Network in the accredited and unaccredited fields are based on standard methods, and the results obtained are evaluated against the criteria laid down in the standards, specifications and technical procedures.
Integrity
- Augstsprieguma tīkls AS guarantees undiscriminating conditions for using Transmission System of electricity for all users of and applicants for the Transmission System. Augstsprieguma tīkls AS guarantees access to information for users of and applicants for the Transmission System concerning conditions, which must be taken into account to gain access and connect to the Electricity Transmission System.
- Augstsprieguma tīkls AS undertakes to develop communication with clients and the society.
- The Electric Power Laboratory of Augstsprieguma tīkls AS provides clients with valid, objective and repeatable results, where possible, maintaining the necessary confidentiality.
Quality
- Augstsprieguma tīkls AS ensures safety, stability and quality of electricity transmission in compliance with the reasonable technical and economic requirements.
- In order to ensure implementation and maintenance of the service quality the management of Augstsprieguma tīkls AS confirms that aims of the company and access to the service are provided by the technology that is being developed constantly.
- Level of the accredited and unaccredited measuring, testing and compliance assessment works carried out by the Electric Power Laboratory of High Voltage Network will always comply with the requirements of the standards LVS EN ISO/IEC 17025 and LVS EN 45004.
Openness
- While evaluating safety of the electricity supply system, the most critical conditions should be taken into account. Augstsprieguma tīkls AS ensures that the results of safety evaluation are made available to the public in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
- Augstsprieguma tīkls AS publishes the tariff of the Transmission System use, which is made available to the public.
Environmental Protection
- To continue a large-scale reconstruction and modernization process of the power appliances in order to increase safety and stability of the electricity transmission and minimize electricity losses.
- Augstsprieguma tīkls AS will devote particular attention to environmental protection problems in its further development, taking into account increasing requirements of environmental protection and safety determined by the public welfare needs and international obligations of Latvia. Augstsprieguma tīkls AS will:
- promote constant improvement of environmental performance; identify and reduce potential risks to the lowest levels possible; ensure health and safety of the environment and personnel; develop environmental awareness of the personnel in every workplace and on all levels;
- inform the society and stakeholders on activities of the Company concerning environment issues on a regular basis; constantly improve Environmental Management System doing its best to comply with the requirements of the EU Directives and standards.

Compliance of our integrated management system is checked during regular internal audits. This ensures that our system stays at the level set by the management of the company and needs of the Transmission System users, as well as provides and constantly improves internal processes of the management.
