The procedure for getting a new connection or change the capacity of the existing connection:
1. When a customer or a user wants to have a new connection or change the capacity of the existing connection, a filled in form “Application for Connection to Electricity Network” (hereinafter – Application) is to be submitted at any Sadales tikls AS Customer Service Centre. Any Customer Service Centre provides detailed information on the procedure of the document submission and getting a new connection. Additional information may be obtained by using Customer Service phone line 80200400.
2. In any case the customer has to submit the Application at any of Sadales tikls AS Customer Service Centres. In case the connection is to be done to the transmission network Sadales tikls AS cooperates with Augstsprieguma tīkls AS (High Voltage Network), transferring the documentation and informing the customer about it respectively.
3. In order to speed up the connection procedure the Application may be sent by mail. The Application form and the attached Agreement on the Procedure of Establishing Connection with Electric Facilities and Construction Design that can be printed out and filled in (on both sides of a sheet) are available electronically in this page.
4. The customer fills in the Application form for connection to the user’s electric network and submits it at any of Sadales tīkls AS Customer Service Centres. The Application form contains information on the additional documents to be submitted together with the form. On submission physical entities shall present the passport/ driver’s license, legal entities – a document on signatory power. The Application is to be registered when it is fully and correctly filled in and all the required documents are attached.
5. After the registration of the Application pursuant to the “Regulations for Electricity System Users on Connection to the System” Sadales tikls AS calculates the feasible installment costs and provides the customer with the respective information not later than within the period of 30 days. 6. When the project has been designed and approved Sadales tikls AS shortlists the tenderers to select the constructor for the connection and receive information on the real construction costs.
7. If the Application was submitted in order to find out the possible cost of the connection or if all the necessary documents were not submitted or produced along with submission of the Application, the customer will be sent the “Form of Necessary Approvals and Documents to be Submitted” along with the Technical Requirements.
In order to continue implementation of the connection, the Customer must, within the validity term of the Technical Requirements, submit a signed “Form of Necessary Approvals and Documents to be Submitted” with all the specified approvals and documents to be submitted which are listed in the form and have not been submitted along with the Application.
8. A connection contract is signed between Sadales tikls AS and the customer.
9. After signing the connection contract and paying the connection costs Sadales tikls AS organizes connection construction up to the borders of the customer’s or the user’s possessions. The user constructs the local network for his/her electric facilities within the borders of the possession.
10. After bidder selection (if construction works need to be performed) or after receiving the customer’s approval for implementing the requested connection (if there is no need to develop a design), Sadales tīkls AS sends the Customer a Draft Connection Agreement as two copies, specifying the construction time limits and the exact amount payable by the Customer for the connection, as well as, if bidder selection has taken place, information about the winner of the bidder selection process, “Statement on Construction of the User’s Electrical Installations” and, unless implementation of the connection is related to the construction of other connections, an invoice for implementing the connection.
If the customer consents to the provisions of the Agreement, they can submit both signed copies of the Agreement to the Customer Service Centre or send them by mail, paying the sent invoice by the deadline specified therein.
If a Customer does not submit a signed Connection Agreement to Sadales tīkls AS and does not pay off the sent invoice by the specified deadline, installation of the connection shall be deemed unnecessary and the Application shall be void.
11. If implementation of a connection is related to construction of other connections, within 5 business days after signing the Connection Agreement, Sadales tīkls AS issues an invoice to the customer for the cost of connection specified in the Connection Agreement as well as sends back a signed copy of the Connection Agreement. There is no need to notify Sadales tīkls AS about the invoice payment because this information is gathered automatically.
12. After the user has submitted “Deed on the Construction of the User’s Electric Facilities” the monitoring engineer/ electrician from Sadales tikls AS checks the constructed connection, affixes a seal on the meter and connects the user’s electric facility to the network.
13. On construction of the connection finished and the electricity supply network put into operation the user signs with Sadales tikls AS a contract on electricity supply and use entitling the customer to use electricity from that moment onwards.
