Latvenergo AS generates electricity also at Ainazi wind power plant. In 1996, Ainazi WPP was set up as the first high-capacity (2 x 0.6 MW) wind power plant in Latvia (the Baltic States). To concede, the amount of electricity generated by wind power plants is small in comparison to the power capacities of HPPs and TECs.
In 2007, Ainazu WPP generated 0.7 GWh of electricity.
Latvenergo AS is going to assess the possibilities to modernise the wind power plant and increase its capacity.
